Warhorse

Acrylic on Canvas
By Wendy Paul

Bold, spirited, and unforgettable, Warhorse is a striking celebration of strength, courage, and individuality. Through vibrant colour and expressive brushwork, Wendy Paul transforms the traditional image of the horse into a powerful symbol of resilience and freedom, creating a work that commands attention and inspires the imagination.
The horse's piercing gaze and proud stance convey confidence and determination, while its flowing mane bursts outward in a whirlwind of turquoise, teal, violet, and gold.

The dynamic movement of the mane evokes the energy of wind, water, and untamed spirit, contrasting beautifully with the calm intensity of the horse itself. The stars adorning its face and the inscription Invictus—meaning "unconquered"—further reinforce themes of perseverance, inner strength, and triumph over adversity.

Blending realism with contemporary expression, Wendy Paul creates a portrait that is both deeply personal and universally inspiring. The vivid colour palette and symbolic imagery invite viewers to reflect on their own resilience, reminding us that true strength is found not only in power, but in courage, character, and determination.

Rich in personality and artistic energy, Warhorse is a captivating statement piece that brings vitality, inspiration, and contemporary elegance to any collection. It is a celebration of the enduring spirit that carries us forward through life's greatest challenges and triumphs.
