Through layers of light, colour, and atmosphere, a lone wolf silently emerges into view. Through the Veil explores the unseen connection between memory, spirit, and the wild, inviting the viewer into a moment of presence, wonder, and quiet reflection.
 
Artists Statement
 
Some of the most important things in life cannot be seen.
 
Only felt. Love. Grief. Memory.
 
The quiet certainty that someone we love is somehow still with us.
 
We live in a world that asks us to explain everything. To measure it. To prove it. Yet some of life's deepest truths have never needed proof.
 
The wild has never asked for proof. It simply asks us to pay attention.
 
Although Through the Veil was inspired by the loss of my beloved wolfdog, Kayah, this is not a painting about a wolf. It is about the invisible threads that continue to connect us to those we've loved, long after they are gone.
 
Rather than placing her within a defined landscape, I allowed light, texture, and atmosphere to become part of her story. She doesn't emerge from a place as much as from a feeling—a quiet space where memory, love, and the wild continue to exist together.
 
In a world that grows louder each day, I believe we are forgetting how to notice the quiet things—the whispers, the presence, and the feeling that we belong to something far greater than ourselves. Perhaps that is why she steps so quietly into the light. Not to be seen... But to remind us that some of the most important things in life can never be held.
 
Only felt.
