Wings of Splendour

Acrylic on Canvas
by Wayne Stewart

With its magnificent plumage unfurled in a moment of natural grace, Wings of Splendour celebrates the remarkable beauty of the Wood Duck—one of North America’s most striking and colourful waterfowl. Wayne Stewart captures the bird’s regal posture and intricate feather patterns with exceptional attention to detail, revealing the rich emerald greens, deep chestnut tones, and iridescent blues that make this species so admired.

Set against a warm, softly textured background, the composition allows the duck’s vibrant colours and elegant form to take center stage. The outstretched wing creates a sense of movement and pride, transforming a fleeting moment in nature into a timeless portrait of confidence, beauty, and strength.

Both graceful and captivating, Wings of Splendour invites viewers to pause and appreciate the extraordinary artistry found in the natural world. It is a stunning addition for wildlife enthusiasts, bird lovers, and collectors who value the beauty and wonder of Canada’s diverse landscapes and creatures.
