Sculpted from luminous California alabaster, Point of View is a compelling exploration of perspective, balance, and transformation. Jill Moore allows the natural character of the stone to remain central to the work, revealing delicate layers of ivory, warm cream, soft grey, and subtle earth-toned veining. Light travels across its polished surfaces and through the alabaster’s translucent edges, bringing the sculpture to life and allowing its appearance to shift throughout the day.
 
The sculpture’s graceful upward movement is balanced by strong architectural lines and a carefully carved opening near its base. Its overlapping forms suggest two figures, opposing viewpoints, or separate paths meeting at a shared point. From one angle, the work appears solid and grounded; from another, it feels open, fluid, and almost weightless. This changing visual experience invites viewers to move around the piece and discover how dramatically a subject can change when seen from a different position.
 
Point of View is inspired by perception and the many ways we understand the world around us. It reminds us that every experience can be viewed from more than one perspective—and that openness, empathy, and curiosity can reveal possibilities that initially remain hidden.
