Artists Statement
 
Every meaningful journey begins with a decision. Not the first mile. Not the mountain. The decision to leave behind what is familiar and trust what lies beyond it. The wilderness has taught me that every trail offers two choices: turn back... or continue. Over the years, I've learned that the greatest rewards have rarely been waiting at the destination. They've been waiting for the person I became along the way. In Going Beyond, a lone rider and pack horse cross a mountain stream beneath towering peaks and ancient forests. The crossing is more than part of the landscape—it is a quiet moment of trust.
 
A decision to leave certainty behind and continue forward, even when the destination remains unknown.
 
Every meaningful journey asks something of us. Sometimes it asks for courage. Sometimes patience. Sometimes simply the willingness to take one more step when the trail disappears around the bend.
 
The wild has taught me that growth rarely happens where life feels comfortable.
 
It happens when we choose to move beyond what we know and trust that something beautiful waits on the other side. Going Beyond is not simply a painting about crossing a mountain stream. It is about crossing the invisible line between fear and possibility.
 
This painting is my invitation to trust the unknown, embrace the journey, and remember that the most extraordinary places in life are often found just beyond our comfort zone.
