Feeling Joyful

By Daniel Dearborn
Acrylic on Canvas
60″ × 48″

Feeling Joyful is a vibrant celebration of colour, nature and the quiet happiness found beneath the trees. Inspired by a tranquil walk through a magnificent Ponderosa pine forest, the painting captures the sense of wonder that comes from slowing down and becoming fully immersed in the natural world.

At the centre of the composition stands a remarkable tree whose colourful bark is alive with warmth and personality. Layers of rich, expressive colour transform the familiar surface of the Ponderosa pine into something almost magical, revealing the beauty that can be discovered when we take the time to look more closely.

The warm palette creates an immediate feeling of comfort and joy. Glowing colour moves through the painting like sunlight filtering between the branches, while the surrounding atmosphere feels as gentle and welcoming as an open sky. The work carries a sense of freedom, warmth and emotional lightness.

Rather than simply presenting a forest scene, Daniel Dearborn invites the viewer to step inside it. The painting encourages us to imagine walking among the Ponderosa pines, breathing in the fresh air and experiencing the peace, beauty and quiet energy of the forest for ourselves.

The title Feeling Joyful perfectly reflects the spirit of the work. It speaks to those unexpected moments when nature lifts the heart—a brilliant colour, a familiar tree, warm sunlight or the simple pleasure of being surrounded by something beautiful.

Measuring an impressive 60″ × 48″, Feeling Joyful has a commanding presence while retaining a warm and inviting character. Its generous scale, vivid colour and uplifting atmosphere make it an exceptional statement piece for a contemporary home, hotel, executive office or welcoming public space.
