Day in the Garden
Original Acrylic on Canvas
by Terrence Moore
Rich with colour, conversation, and the quiet rhythm of the land, Day in the Garden celebrates the simple pleasures of working together beneath an open sky. Terrence Moore captures a peaceful moment where friends and family gather among flourishing garden rows, their shared labour transformed into an expression of community, tradition, and the rewards of a life lived close to nature.
Painted with loose, impressionistic brushwork, the composition is alive with soft greens, golden sunlight, and gentle earth tones. Moore skillfully balances the activity of the figures with the expansive landscape beyond, creating a scene that feels both intimate and timeless. The distant hills and open sky provide a sense of space and calm, while the vibrant garden draws the viewer into the warmth of everyday life.
Day in the Garden is more than a landscape—it is a tribute to connection, stewardship, and the joy found in simple moments shared with others. Its inviting atmosphere makes it an ideal piece for kitchens, dining rooms, family spaces, wineries, or any setting where warmth, hospitality, and a love of the outdoors are celebrated.
A longtime Peachland artist, Terrence Moore is known for his expressive acrylic paintings that capture the beauty of the Okanagan and the stories woven into its people and landscapes. His work reflects a deep appreciation for rural life, changing seasons, and the quiet moments that bring communities together, combining confident brushwork with a remarkable sensitivity to light and atmosphere.
